Let’s Talk Makeup!!!

Hey Guys! I wanted to post a blog on makeup, because many times people forget that styling is not just putting clothes together, but it is also a makeup and hair process as well. People tend to forget that in order to style you have to be able to relate your facial vision to your makeup artist and your hair vision to you hair stylist. The reason many people have styling teams is due to the fact they cannot do it all. One man styling teams usually can do hair and do makeup and put your whole outfit together.

The point I am trying to make is that ladies and gents it helps to know a little makeup. I am a true testament to that myself. I literally did not learn how to do my makeup until my twenty-third birthday. When I was growing up I didn’t care for overall makeup at all. My definition of makeup was three different types of mascara to get the desired look of false lashes and eyeliner I always kept it real simple. When me and my friends were getting ready to go out I would be the one waiting because they would still be trying to do there makeup. Yes! I was that girl the plain girl.

When I realized that styling required more than just putting some clothing pieces together and amongst other things. I figured I had to learn how to do my own makeup. The process of learning how to do makeup is quite tedious I must say.

My makeup journey was quite frightful honestly. I went to MAC and lets just say they were not very helpful at all. Honestly this is my personal opinion every person feels different about different makeup counters and different makeup vendors. I did not care for MAC because the people who worked there acted as if they did not want to help me in understanding how to do my makeup! My sister recommended Sephora and lets just say I was in heaven! Sephora went through step by step on how to apply my makeup the three step order and even matched me perfectly. Literally in love with them. Once I got those three steps down it was quite easy. The initial three steps learned were liquid foundation, concealer, and then powder foundation to give that matte finish. I started seeing makeup artist on instagram and wanted to learn more. I just learned today how to contour and I am so excited to begin practicing what I learned today from Sephora! A very nice young lady by the name of Brooke (Downtown Fort Worth Sephora) is great at the makeup game she helped my sister find her dream makeup (Makeup Forever) and showed me how to contour my face to a tee.

The reason I am saying stylist should know at least the basics in makeup rules are quite simple because you never know you might have to do some ones makeup. The reason you might have to be your own one man styling team or the makeup artist you hired might be out sick for some reason. Guys learn the basics to makeup please!
