Vivienne Westwood

When you think of a Fashion Icon. A trailblazer. A fashion legend. Make sure you speak of Vivienne Westwood. Vivienne Westwood, a designer of her own merits, who played by only her style rules. Westwood has over seventy fashion collections completed over a span of forty years. Westwood gave a different view of what it meant to create a fashion look. Inspired by fetishists, bikers, and prostitutes, this ushered in the Punk Fashion Era for Vivienne. Vivienne along with her second husband McLaren designed and styled the music group Sex Pistols in the 1970s, and both became very notable designers due to the group wearing their designs.
Westwood designs would set the tone of what it meant to be an individual. What it meant to be your own version of art. Vivienne believed her designs were art and always created a stand-out collection. The collections she created were always eye-catching and no one matched the next.

Even though a fashion icon like herself, and a downright style artist. Vivienne was quite a philanthropist and environmentalist. Vivienne truly had a passion for wanting better for our ecosystem. Westwood has worked with so many grassroots organizations, and charities over the last twenty years, due to her passion for activism. Vivienne Westwood has worked with the Humane Society, Climate Revolution, and Greenpeace plus much much more. Fashion and activism were passions of hers and she lived them out.

Grateful for the woman named Vivienne Westwood, for showing us it is okay to be different. She showed us that we could be walking pieces of art by simply embracing ourselves and who we are. Confidence is key and she possessed every bit of it in every way and carried it so well! Vivienne Westwood leaves behind two sons and a husband, as well as a very successful fashion brand.
